Resilient Infrastructure Technology Suite

Resilience and Sustainability

For Brandenburg’s Infrastructure

Resilience & Sustainability

The ILB-funded RITS project is developing a process model and a technology suite to support the transformation to a “Resilient Infrastructure” (RI) in Brandenburg.

Transformation to Resilient Infrastructure
Infrastructures in Brandenburg must be designed in such a way that they can react flexibly to environmental influences and cushion the negative effects of existing systems. The focus is on the areas of energy, water and food/nutrition (EWF systems), which are of central importance for a resilient future for Brandenburg. Their interactions within the EWF nexus play a crucial role, as interdependencies between these systems can either amplify risks or unlock synergies that strengthen overall resilience.

Brandenburg as a model region
The RITS project focuses on cross-cluster cooperation with start-ups, technology providers, research institutions and, above all, local infrastructure players as well as business and administration.

A first step towards resilience

The research project Resilient Infrastructure Technology Suite (RITS) at XU Exponential University, funded by the State of Brandenburg, aims to develop an initial digital and data-driven platform that maps Brandenburg’s infrastructure and provides solutions to coordinate activities and enable an exchange of knowledge among relevant stakeholders.

Digital Twin & Analysis

Methods for identifying relevant infrastructures and stakeholders through data processing form the foundation for the digital twin of Brandenburg’s infrastructure.

Technology Toolbox

The project develops an interoperable technology toolkit that leverages technologies such as artificial intelligence and blockchain to support the sustainable transformation of resilient infrastructure.

Empowering Infrastructure Stakeholders

Structures, content, and technologies are designed and tested to enable infrastructure stakeholders to actively participate in resilient infrastructure systems.

Initiation of RI Networks

Concrete RI networks are initiated, and participants will be supported in their implementation efforts and in the application of the RI technology toolkit within funded projects.

RI-Technology Suite

Platform Development

Platform development & project management

The RI-Technology Suite is a digital platform that integrates research outcomes and public data to support the development of resilient infrastructure solutions. It combines a website, a collaborative network, and applied digital tools to inform, connect, and support stakeholders through continuous feedback and validation. Built on advanced technologies such as AI, digital twins, and IoT, the suite supports the development of applications that can evolve into demonstrators and, ultimately, practical business models.
